Don't Worry, Be Hoppy

This weeks entry in CBTC.
Shout out to A Stamp Artist Place in Swannanoa, NC, a wonderful LSS I just discovered. Lots of wood mounted and acrylic stamps, inks, embellishments- great ribbon, classes and new to me- Flower Soft Ultra fine- the first flock I have used that doesn't look like you put your sleeve in the wet glue by mistake. I used it around the corolla of the daffodil.
All our LSS deserve our support so please stop by if you are in the area and tell them you heard about them on my blog.
Lots of stamping, glaze pens, chalk ink for the bunnies and message from the Quietfire stamp-Art and flourished heart.
I use my stamp stamp-a -ma-jig a lot and am curious about the new stamp position-it from Scor-it, so please leave me a comment if you have used it and tell me what you think.

Celtic Cross

I wanted a pin to wear tonight to the Scottish Gala in Montreat.
We are talking over at Rangerlink
about embossing powders. I stamped the cross on a piece of candy wrapper silver foil with perfect medium and heat embossed with superfine gold. I stamped the cross on chip board and cut out with the Fiscars ergonomic craft knife and molded the foil around it. I stamped and embossed another cross and glued it on the back.
I'm wearing it in a few hours so I used the red double stick tape to glue on the pin/bale. I hope it holds. I've had bad luck with hot glue and the jewelry glue takes overnight.
Hold the haggis!

Think Pink

This is a get well card for the "Make Mine Pink" challenge over at Gena K Designs.Hop over to Stamp TV and take a look at the bedroom photo that was her inspiration. To each their own.
Pink bubbles is a cuttlebug folder, the image is a Gena K stamp as is the Feel Better message-inked with glaze pen. The daff is a spellbinders die colored with twinkling H2Os and stardust pens.
Buttons on the ribbon are cotton candy stickles.
When in doubt- add gold.

My Heart Dances

"Spring is here. Why doesn't my heart go dancing?"-from the old Rodgers and Hart tune- well, mine is, so I chose this as the theme for the Created Byhand Tuesday Challenge for the week of the vernal equinox.
Lots of random stamping for the background. Flourished heart inked with glaze pens .
The flower is a stamp from Gina K Designs, inked with Marvy water based pens and spritzed with one spritz of water before stamping for a watercolor look.
the lettering I tried to do with watercolors and it bled all over so I stamped some more random stamps on top of it and added more letters to hide what I didn't like.some stardust pen too.
I hope you get out and dance this spring. I'm going to make it an equinox resolution.

Are You Wearing Green

Here is my entry in the Created By hand Tuesday Challenge,"Are you wearing green?"
I have to come up with a theme every week, so I am open to suggestions. I'm good till the end of May.
St Patty's Day, I want to honor my (step) Dad Lawrence O'Boyle. He made my Mom happy and was always proud of and supportive of me- even if he didn't like or understand what I was doing. He was a patriotic American and disliked being called Irish-he preferred an American of Irish descent.
He and Mom watch over us all now and I tip my green heart to them both-probably on the Green-the links being their favorite pastime.
Back to the ATC-Scan doesn't do it justice.
I like the way I got a layered look with out adding paper layers.
Stamped the flourish with ranger perfect medium ,then sponged with pearlescent Sennelier pastels-thanks SIL Diana-Then stamped the dragon flies and colored them with pan pastels. The fairy was stamped in green then heat embossed clear and colored with glaze markers.
Next I added lots of stardust pens for an iridescent look to the dragonflies. the message is also done in Glaze-it's hard to emboss over pastels- i did two layers and stardust on top.
May all your rainbows lead to pots of gold-that we can use in our artwork!

You GO Girl

Here is my entry in the Created by Hand Tuesday Challenge, You GO Girl, honoring March 8- International Woman's day.
I'm eternally grateful to my Mom, Helen O'Boyle, who raised me to believe I could do anything I wanted to do.
I wanted to portray different stages of life and differing colors of woman.
Each of these women is smiling. I believe the most radical response to today's culture is to be happy.
I spread Jones tones glue and wrote into it with a pilot parallel pen, let it dry for an hour and applied the foil. lots of stickles glitter glue, stardust pens and the inkssential white pen .
My prayer for all woman is to know that we are women of wisdom, courage, strength, creativity and compassion, with wisdom, strength, courage and time enough to do what is before us each day.
thanks for looking and leave a comment( I know you were here- I have a counter)

Friendship-Altered Tins

Here is the tin I received from Kathleen, my partner in the altered tin swap over at Ranger Link group.
Yum on the contents.
I was wondering where everyone got the cute little handles to put on the tins, and turns out you can buy these as mini lunchboxes with the handle on. Kathleen did a wonderful job with the AInks and the embossing is perfect- i'm inpressed(embossed?).
I lined the inside with some felt and filled it with all my little notions that fall to the bottom of my spinning and knitting bags.
thanks Kathleen for friendship and your creativity.

Birthday Bookmarks

I looked at the calendar and discovered I had two important birthdays requiring very special cards and gifts-knowing both dear friends want only to be remembered.
I altered some cards, and was happy with the way these bookmarks turned out.
I wish you could share in the joy and wonder of these friendships as you do with these pictures.
Quitefire stamps-flourish, friends
I stamped and heat embossed the flourish with gold, and the message with clear. I sprayed the paper with pearl-ex, gum arabic and water, and inked up the edges with a metallic pen and some pigment ink. Punched and embossed the corners.
Happy Birthday Sally and Chris

Letters to Friends

This is my entry in the Created byhand Tuesday Challenge," letters to friends". I wrote out the names of many friends I write to with a Pilot parallel pen and inked over that with some pigment ink. distressed the edges. inked up a piece of vellum and stamped and heat embossed with clear powder with gold glitter.Hard to see the flourished heart stamp is embossed in the upper right hand corner. I used the stamp positioner to use just a part of the stamp and get it where I wanted. the pen nibs are a ek sucess punch and the little envelopes have tiny letters in them.
Shout out to the USPS for all the love and art I give and receive by writing letters to friends.
